How many times have you failed?
I don’t know about you, but I have failed a LOT.
Only recently, I removed the word “fail” from my vocabulary.
Instead, I began replacing that word with “opportunity.”
Think about it. Whenever you didn’t get that role, get that job you really wanted, gotten that text message, didn’t get into the college you wanted to get into, get to that event on time, or any time you have “failed,” what came later?
For me, each and every time a door closed, I have been beyond words amazed at what doors God then opened up for me. What new opportunities arose. And what opportunities came that I wouldn’t otherwise had experienced, had I “succeeded” at whatever I was going for to begin with.
I think time and time again we’re all so hard on ourselves when we “fail.” We feel defeated, lost, and all hope seems to vanish from our hearts.
But friends, I’ve learned that everything truly is done in God’s timing. He allows things to happen, because He has a far greater plan for you than you imagined. A plan that will surpass anything you could have hoped for or dreamed of.
Initially we will experience disappointment, longing, and maybe regret.
But, if we don’t dwell on those “failures” and rather look at them as opportunities, you will see just how many doors God opens up to lead to so many other doors.
We need to stop thinking of disappointment as failure, friends. Because there really is a difference between the two. If we surrender ourselves to Him, He will lead us to the greatest plan we could have ever dreamed of, and more.
