It’s that time of year again when loud noises outdoors are normal, bursts of light take over the sky, and red, white, and blue are colors seen everywhere.
Typically, fireworks and sparklers are seen once a year in America, for the 4th of July. They excite people, and individuals spend a lot of money on them.
I’ve been thinking a lot about fireworks and sparklers recently. How we all as individuals can relate in a way to fireworks. We all have that firework inside of us. That thing that excites us, allows us to shine, and shows us in our truest of colors, but it doesn’t come around very often.
We tend to live our lives in a daily routine, not allowing ourselves any time for what we truly love, or for what truly makes us shine like a sparkler. We allow ourselves so rarely to actually be the sparkler, when in reality, we should find that spark within us. We should let ourselves shine.
I think a lot of times the things that make us shine are our hobbies. I’ve been taking vocal lessons for five years, and for a year now, there is one thing that I do for myself every other week, and that is attend my voice lessons. I look forward to those vocal lessons from the moment I leave my last one, to the minute I walk into that room two weeks later.
I’ve been told a lot that I’m a “workaholic” and don’t take much time for myself. That’s okay though, I like it that way. I have something every two weeks to really have a chance to find that spark within me. It’s always a time for self discovery, learning, excelling, and gratitude for the talents that I have been given. I truly feel like I am living my best life and finding that spark within me, every vocal lesson I have.
I challenge you today, friends. I challenge you to find the spark within you that just sets you on fire. Find that one thing that truly allows you to be the best version of yourself, and allows you to set fireworks off on this earth with all that you have been given, and have chosen to share with the world.
Happy Independence Day, friends! Celebrate this amazing country we get to live in today. xoxo
