Four Tip Tuesday Lightroom Tips

It’s another beautiful summer morning, and I have some Tuesday Tips for you all! Here are four tips in Lightroom to hopefully give you some new things to try in the program.

1. Starring photos is one of my favorite things to do to help organize which photos are my favorites and to rate them! You can do so by right clicking on the photo in Develop mode. In addition, what many don’t know is you can just type a number (1-5) to give it a rating and it will star it for you.
2. Another good way to organize photos is through color labeling. Sometimes I use these colors to narrow down even more which photos are my favorites. Again, when in Develop mode you can right click the photo, or select the color by typing the keys (6-9).
3. Sometimes it’s nice to just focus on the photo you’re working on without having other photos or anything else around. Lights Out is great for this! To enter Lights Out mode, press the L key on your keyboard in the Library module. The area around the image dims, and your image will look nice and clean. Tap it again to totally black out the area around the image. Pressing L a third time will reset the view.
4. If you want to get rid of blemishes, the best key for that is Q, and it gives you a stamp. From there you can select which area you want to clone from, and blemish correct away!
