St. Luke Roman Catholic Church, River Forest, Illinois | Elizabeth F Cheney Mansion, Oak Park, Illinois | Quarantine Wedding Restructured to Dream Day

Mary and Parker’s wedding didn’t happen as they had planned a year ago.

And I’m sure didn’t happen as they had always envisioned in their minds.

These two met in Alabama in college. They had multiple classes together, and the rest is history. After college, they decided to move to Chicago, Illinois, and Parker proposed last year with an aisle of roses.

They had planned to have all of their loved ones around as they said “I do.”
But a virus altered their plans a bit.
It altered their plans to a guest list of seven people (myself included).

To Mary getting her hair done by Parker’s mom, Andrea.

To their guests tuning in via Facebook Live, rather than physical presence.

And to their reception becoming takeout celebrated with their parents.

But you know what didn’t change?

The love all around.

Mary’s dad, Dave, peeking through the door to see her in her dress.

Happy tears.

Their first dance still happening at Elizabeth F Cheney Mansion.

Mary and Parker saying “I do” inside of St. Luke Roman Catholic Church.

We celebrated, we cried, we laughed, we social distanced, and they said “yes” to forever.

THAT is something worth celebrating ANY time, ANY day, no matter who is there to witness it or not.

Mary and Parker will have their reception celebration in 2021 at Elizabeth F Cheney Mansion in Oak Park, Illinois.

Until then, they’ll be living life as husband and wife. And I’ll meet them back on the dance floor in a year 😉

xoxo
