I started my full time working from home journey three months ago, and I’ve learned quuuuite a few hacks on my best days vs. worst days, and am here to share with you my 10 best secrets to consistently live your best EVERY day!
1. Wake up at a consistent time every morning
I personally was wake up most days at 4:00 am. I start my day in exercise, and typically my morning routine includes prayer, exercise, making my smoothie, showering, and sitting down to work before 8:00 am.
2. Get physical exercise in every day
Even if it’s a walk in the neighborhood some days or playing with the kids other days, moving your body is KEY
3. Have a detailed to-do list physically written out for EVERY day
Write everything out in detail of what you need to get done. Have TWO to-do lists, one for the week and one for each day is key. This will help you to distinguish what you need to get done that day vs. the week as a whole.
4. GET DRESSED.
Dress for yourself even if no one else is home! I’ve learned that I am so much more productive when I get dressed for the day, rather than just wearing sweats. When I dress in a professional way, my mindset is professional.
5. Make yourself a nutritious breakfast that will get you going
I personally love making smoothies. I make smoothies with protein and high fat ingredients, to keep me full all morning long.
6. DRINK WATER DRINK WATER DRINK WATER
Even when you don’t feel like it! Drinking water keeps your blood flowing and continues to keep your energy up throughout the day.
7. Set up batch days
Do it so that each day is devoted to different tasks/categories/workflows. Batch days are game-changers! Then every day you know what types of tasks to work on.
8. Have a drink on hand that you can go to during that afternoon slump
I personally love Plexus’s Active drink. It’s been a game-changer in productivity ever since I cut down on coffee, but black coffee or tea works too
9. PLAY MUSIC
I play music literally ALL day long, no matter what I’m doing. It sets the mood and keeps me lively and going
10. TAKE BREAKS
Small breaks are just as important for mental clarity. When you take breaks throughout the day, you’re able to recover and step away from those tedious tasks to give your brain a break.
