Anyone who knows me, knows I’m a coffee addict. Like serious “Teresa needs help” type of coffee addict. But with being a coffee addict comes being very particular about coffee, and critiquing most that I taste.
What also comes with being a coffee addict is being seen on a regular basis at all of the local coffee shops.
Last year I saw several posts on social media of my friends getting coffee from a mobile coffee shop. I wondered where they were getting this coffee from, but didn’t think much of it since I had never seen the mobile shop in person myself.
Flash forward to March of this year, I was once again seeing so many of my friends on social media posting about this place called The Spot. They spoke about their lattés being the best they had ever tasted, and I knew at that moment I had to discover this hidden gem.
I walked through those doors on a Sunday afternoon and the moment I sipped that Iced Miél, it was love at first sip.
I mentioned that I’m a coffee addict and go to all of the local coffee shops, but let me just say that The Spot’s Iced Miél’s are by far the best of the best. I’ve tried so many other shops just trying to get one to compare, but they never even come close.
The Spot has been open since February 9, 2018, however (as if The Spot couldn’t get any better), they also have a mobile version of their shop which opened before, on October 5th, 2016. They come out with schedules on social media sharing with their customers where they’ll be located that week, and I always seem to find myself at the mobile shop in Peoria Heights Tower Park every Tuesday.
They specialize in their lattés (my favorite), and make all of their own homemade syrups. To me, this is one of the biggest things I love about them.
In their store, it’s furnished with furniture and furnishings that one can find in their home. They want to be welcoming and inviting to all that enter through their doors.
Sara, their owner, stated: “ we want to be The Spot for your Bible studies, meetings, get togethers with your friend(s), or even time to yourselves. Once you walk through our doors, you are our guests! We try to tend to all of our guests needs and invite them to stay as long as they’d like. My favorite thing about having The Spot, is offering this space and seeing how people use it!”
Friends, go stop in The Spot, or catch their mobile shop out and about, and get ready to fall in love with coffee all over again. They have the friendliest, smiling employees (like Grace and Sam pictured), treats (regular and gluten free) if you’re feeling sweet, and coffee that’s waiting for you. What more could anyone ever want in a coffee shop??
